Ministry Update

I recently read an article from a 1999 edition of the Bill Glass Ministries GOALPOST newsletter where Jim Lang, Executive Vice President of the ministry at the time, wrote about building things…construction and ministry, two things he knows a lot about. There were three basic principles for our ministry:

1. Unity & Teamwork – Bill Glass taught us the value and importance of doing things on a team in football & ministry.
2. Practicality – Jim said ”Be specific” and that being specific in what we are doing adds to the unity and teamwork concepts of our ministry.
3. Personal Sacrifice – There has been a lot of that in this ministry over the last 55 years. Thank you to all of those that have served and sacrificed. I truly get to stand on the shoulders of some giants!​​​​​​​

There is much more work to be done and it will continually take the same principles that Jim and Bill shared with us...Unity & Teamwork, Practicality, and Personal Sacrifice. I am blessed to serve with each one of you!

College Student Takeover

Our Fresno, CA Madera event was unique! 34 of the 43 Teammates were Rookies and almost of all of them were college students and a few of their teachers! It was great to see a large group of young people getting trained and taking the Gospel behind the walls. They took part in 300 conversations leading 48 new brothers and sisters to Christ and 76 returning to Him!

​​​​​​​Blythe, CA: Friday, March 8th, 20 Teammates shared the Gospel with 200 inmates in Ironwood State Prison. 45 men started relationships with Jesus and 55 repented and returned to Him. Ironwood was not the initial unit setup for this event. The original one shut down earlier than expected but God led the way and Ironwood graciously opened their doors to us and now they have 100 inmates following Jesus!

Dayton OH: 96 Teammates including 24 Rookies shared the Gospel with 418 inmates. 78 of them began relationships with Jesus and 87 returned to Him! Regional Director Dan McDonough has quite a few events going on in Ohio. Help us make these events happen: click here for info on joining a Local Team.

Navasota, TX: At our first ever Navasota, TX Day of Champions, 81 Teammates (11 Rookies) shared the Gospel with 388 inmates in two facilities. 35 men started relationships with Jesus Christ and 131 repented and returned to Him! Before we could leave, the team was asked when we can come back!

Events, Event, Events: It seems we are adding multiple events on a weekly basis. Keep an eye on the calendar as it continues to grow.

4th Annual Golf Challenge: Interstate Batteries has stepped up to the plate for the fourth year in a row as our title sponsor. Several of our other sponsors from the past have also joined in for their fourth year too! We are making some changes to some of the post event festivities that we think we will make this year the best challenge ever.
